and a little less time...

...trying to impress people; we all do it. But we'll get nowhere if we're constantly looking for acceptance from others.

ways I've determined to make something of myself:

o n e : Work diligently to become a more loyal and devoted daughter of The King

t w o : spend less time on myself and more time on others

t h r e e : give more, whether it be time, influence or resources

We do no good by comparing ourselves to others. We only rob ourselves of the true joy that can be found in contentment. So often I find myself comparing my success to others and wishing I had theirs. But I've resolved to be content and work harder towards my goals instead of envying others :-)

So the holiday's are coming up. Within the next few months you can support local and independent businesses by shopping at local craft fairs or browsing thousands of handcrafted and vintage items online through E T S Y. Why support handmade or independently owned small businesses?

You're purchasing from crafters who love doing their craft. Not from a factory, but from someone's hands. Someone who loves what they do and wants to share their inspiration with you to brighten up your life.
Handmade is unique. No one will give the same gift that you give. Each gift you give this holiday season can be personable and special.
You're creating a personal connection. Many buyers have no idea how much of an impact just one sale makes on a small business owner. I know I jump up and down each time we get a sale :) Just know that it truly makes us feel special <3
Avoid shopping malls and busy stores this season at sit at home on your computer browsing through items to send to friends and family far away or to purchase for Christmas morning.

Whatever the occasion or person you have in mind when buying handmade. Know this: through buying handmade you're creating a personal connection with a seller. You're supporting someone's dreams, hopes, goals, and ideas for their futures. It's a win-win situation. The seller brightens your life and you brighten theirs.
